Set up your Windows password

To use the NoPass™ Desktop Unlock feature, you need to set up your Windows password. Your Windows password can be set up and managed by your organization. Should it be the case, contact your organization administrator to get to know your Windows password. 

Otherwise, you can set up your Windows password by yourself. For more details on your Windows password and how to set it up, go to Microsoft Support

You can set up a Windows password in the following ways:

 -  from Settings

 -  using a keyboard shortcuts

 -  using computer management

 -  from Control Panel

Procedure

1. On your computer, open the Start menu.

2. On the Start menu, click Settings.

3. In Settings, click Accounts.

4. In the Accounts tab, click Sign-in options.

5. In Sign-in options, select Password and click Add.

6. In the Create a password window, enter your password, then enter it again to confirm your new password. You must also create a password hint to help you remember your password. The hint will be displayed in case you enter an incorrect password. Then click Next.

: Make sure the password hint does not show your actual password.

7. In the following window, click Finish

Procedure

1. On your keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Del.

2. On the following screen, click Change a password.

3. If you have set up a password before, enter your existing password in the Old password field. Otherwise, leave the box empty.

4. Type your new password and repeat it in the Confirm password box.

5. Then, click the arrow at the end of the Confirm password box to submit your new password.

Procedure

1. In the File Explorer , right-click This PC.

2. Select Manage from the list of actions.

3. Click Local Users and Groups.

4. Double-click the Users tab in the right pane.

5. Right-click the required user from the list.

6. Select Set Password.

7. In the following dialogue box, click Proceed.

8. Enter your password in the New password box, then repeat it in the Confirm password box, and click OK.

Procedure

1. To open the Control Panel, type Control Panel in the Search box.

2. From the search results, select Control Panel.

3. In the Control Panel window, click User Accounts > User Accounts.

4. Select the required user.

 

5. In the following window, click Change the password.

6. Enter your password in the New password box, then repeat it in the Confirm password box. You must also create a password hint to help you remember your password. The hint will be displayed in case you enter an incorrect password. Then click Change password.
